You’d be nuts trying to climb up here with me. There isn’t mush room
THESE playful red squirrels look as if they’re auditioning for the latest Disney spectacular as they caper among toadstools and mushrooms.
After cleverly balancing on two toadstools, one of the creatures then plucks the fungus from the ground and appears to use it as a microphone.
The squirrels were later joined by a bird which seemed determined to get in on the action too.
This magical sequence was captured by wildlife photographer Geert Weggen at the rear of his house in Bispgarden, Sweden.
Mr Weggen, 49, has become so captivated by the antics of wildlife near his home that he has set up an outdoor studio where he can wait patiently for them to appear for the perfect shot.
He particularly loves the opportunities that autumn affords as the colours change. ‘It is wonderful to photograph them like this,’ he said. ‘It becomes like a fairytale world.’
