The language of wasting money

-

Only 1 per cent of Scots speak Gaelic. Yet last week’s article, ‘Now even Holyrood cleaners go Gaelic’, suggests staff in the Scottish parliament are expected to learn the language.

Millions have been spent promoting Gaelic, with schools built and mandatory lessons in Gaelic as well as English.

I am sure most Scots object to their tax money being spent this way instead of going where it should be – the NHS, social services, pot holes and education.

This passion for Gaelic comes from a minority. The majority are not interested. Name and address supplied, Edinburgh
