Driver killed by 2 buses
A BUS driver was killed after reportedly being hit by two buses in a freak accident.
The tragedy happened at the McGill’s Buses depot in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, shortly before 1am on Friday.
Investigations into the incident were continuing yesterday after the 43-year-old was apparently hit by one bus before being struck by another a matter of seconds later.
Emergency services took the injured man to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, but he later lost his fight for life.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: ‘Around 12.50am, police were called to a 43-year-old man seriously injured at Cochranemill Road yard. He was taken to the Royal Alexandra in a critical condition and died a short time later.’
The Health and Safety Executive and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency have been made aware of the accident.
McGill’s Buses was yesterday unavailable for comment.
