USE ONE PILLOW TO AVOID NECK STRAIN

Ensuring the neck is in a neutral position and in line with the spine when sleeping is key to avoiding neck strain.

Marc Sanders, of the British Chiropract­ic Associatio­n, says: ‘Two pillows can cause your neck to excessivel­y bend forward.

‘But remember, if your one pillow is too thin you may find your neck is bent backwards.

‘When we adopt these postures during sleep, they can increase stresses on the neck.’
