Fancy a £3,000 holiday by June? Then give up smoking...

- By Laura Shannon

AN ULTRA marathon runner and entrepreneur is making it his mission to help smokers kick the habit – and reap financial rewards.

Peterborough-based Paul Hunt says a heavysmoking couple that quits now will be able to afford a £3,000 holiday by June, accumulate some £1,000 of spending money and have a £2,000 Christmas fund by this time next year. Hunt, an ardent nonsmoker, started vaping companies V2cigs and Pure Eliquids because he was inspired by a friend’s ‘deadly addiction’.

He says: ‘I’m forever trying to find ways of getting across the health and financial advantages of giving up tobacco.’

Meanwhile, window furnishings company Thomas Sanderson has created a ‘ditch-to-berich’ online calculator, showing would-be house buyers how much faster they can save for a home deposit by quitting bad spending habits such as take-away coffee, alcohol, fast food and smoking.
