Spider-Man didn’t bear gift of gold

-

I find it very sad how a lot of Nativity plays are being portrayed these days.

The clue is in the name – it’s about the birth of Jesus.

But, bizarrely, Spider-Man seems to feature in some of the plays, along with lobsters and elves.

If schools want to perform that sort of play, then please don’t call it a Nativity.

We are a Christian country, whether some people like it or not, and respect for that should be shown.

If British people go to other countries which follow a different religion, we show respect and we don’t expect them to embrace our religious traditions in preference to their own.

I have no problem with other religious traditions being celebrated. But please don’t forget what Christmas means to those of us who still believe in a Christian Britain.

Show respect for that by not decimating our Christmas traditions and replacing them with nonsense.
