Iranian, 33, remanded over terror attack plot
AN IRANIAN man appeared in court yesterday accused of buying a knife and chemicals in preparation for a terror attack in the UK.
Fatah Mohammed Abdullah, of Arthur’s Hill, Newcastle, was guarded by three police officers in the dock at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London.
The 33-year-old is alleged to have bought a knife and chemical ‘explosive precursors’, more than 8,000 matches and several fuses.
He is also said to have searched online for components, including a pressure cooker, to make an explosive.
Abdullah, who came to Britain in 2005, was arrested in Newcastle on Tuesday. He was remanded until January 14.
