Y-front fans

Last week Alexandra Shulman wrote that not even Jude Law (left) could make Y-fronts acceptable, and that she was glad men of her generation preferred boxer shorts. I can assure her that Yfronts serve a very practical purpose for men. Y-fronts are far safer and more comfortable than boxers, despite their freedom. Women wear bras for support, so why shouldn’t men keep the family jewels safe with Yfronts, even if they may not look great? Paul Glavin, Hopton, Norfolk
