- By Max Aitchison

TO her legions of loyal fans within the SNP, Nicola sturgeon is often regarded as something of a political superstar.

But even her most ardent of admirers might think she is behaving a bit like a diva with her latest offering to the faithful.

Members of the SNP are being offered a chance to buy signed photographs of Ms sturgeon – each priced at £195.

Mounted on an 8x6 in wooden block, the picture captures the moment Ms sturgeon addressed a crowd of 12,000 adoring fans at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro arena shortly after she was elected leader in 2014.

Dressed in a totty Rocks tartan jacket, she told the crowd that ‘democracy rocks’ — despite only losing the independence referendum a couple of months before.

at the event, outgoing leader alex salmond hailed Ms sturgeon as the ‘most brilliant young woman in scottish politics’. Before she took to the stage, warm-up acts included Eddi Reader and bagpipe band Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

the signed photograph is part of a limited edition run of 50.

the offer was sent to all party members – tucked inside Ms sturgeon’s annual st andrews day greeting card.

as part of a festive fundraising drive, the party is also offering a range of other ‘Christmas crackers’ – including a £75 sNP-embossed leather notebook or a £95 sNPbranded ‘lustrous chrome ballpoint pen’.

For those on a more modest budget, they have an £8 scottie dog soft toy in an sNP t-shirt.

Members are also urged to cough up any additional donation funds they can.
