Blackford, defending Ross, Skye and Lochaber, likes to tell people he is a ‘humble crofter’ – and isn’t too keen on people bringing up his £50,000-a-year earnings from company directorships. So when Lib Dem rival Craig Harrow started handing out fake £50,000 cheques in a jibe at the SNP heavyweight, Mr Blackford was furious. Seemingly he ordered the SNP to list Lib Dem MPs with second jobs. All they could unearth was that Jamie Stone, candidate for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross, apparently owns a field. Talk about ploughing new depths!
