Bezos sued by lover’s brother

AMAZON founder Jeff Bezos is being sued by his girlfriend’s brother after the tycoon claimed he had leaked naked pictures of the billionaire to a US tabloid.

Michael Sanchez, the brother of Mr Bezos’ girlfriend Lauren Sanchez, filed the court papers after Mr Bezos claimed Mr Sanchez was behind a leak to the National Enquirer.

Last year, the tabloid published a story exposing an affair that the businessman, thought to be the world’s richest man, had with Ms Sanchez while he was still married to his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie.

Mr Bezos alleged the Enquirer tried to extort him, threatening to publish nude pictures. The tycoon’s security chief accused Saudi Arabia of being behind the revelations. The Saudi authorities deny the claim. After it was then claimed Mr Sanchez was the source for the story, his home was searched by the FBI. Sanchez said he worked with the Enquirer on the story but had not been involved with the pictures. He said: ‘I’ve co-operated with all of the investigations.’

In a statement to news website TMZ, Ms Sanchez claimed her brother sold information to the Enquirer and described his lawsuit against Bezos as ‘baseless and untrue’.
