Fibre pill could beat obesity
A FIBRE supplement taken in young adulthood could be the key to fighting weight-gain and the dreaded ‘middle-age spread’, say scientists.
Researchers at Imperial College, London investigating how fibre feeds ‘healthy’ gut bacteria and helps reduce appetite, have created a daily capsule that could help keep people slim. The scientists are recruiting volunteers in their 20s and 30s who have a body mass index (BMI) score of 25 or more – which means they are at risk of becoming overweight.
