AARON DRINAN scored his first goal for Ayr United but the on-loan Ipswich Town striker ended up on the losing side in the Scottish Cup fifth-round tie. Drinan netted in the fourth minute but St Johnstone battled back to win 2-1. An own goal from Aaron Muirhead, who was later sent off for Ayr, and Callum Hendry’s effort ensured the Premiership side would see off their second-tier foes.
