Host’s husband posed as Harry in cheeky video

-

POSING as Prince Harry in a military uniform and giving a spoof wedding speech, this is the husband of bestselling author Giovanna Fletcher performing a cheeky skit before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding.

Tom Fletcher, singer with pop group McFly, recorded the video for BBC Radio 1’s YouTube channel with a Meghan lookalike.

The finale of his ‘speech’ was a rendition of All About You, a love song that he wrote for Giovanna, whose remarkable interview with the Duchess of Cambridge sparked huge interest this weekend.

With his songwriting skills and her 1.3million Instagram followers and blogs about motherhood, the couple – who met aged 13 at the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London – have become a formidable media team. Mother-of-three Giovanna, 35, built a huge following by talking about topics including maternal mental health and adjusting to her post-baby body.

She published her first fiction book Billy And Me in 2013 and then seven other novels. In 2017, she published Happy Mum, Happy Baby: My Adventures Into Motherhood, which became a number one bestseller.

By then, she and Tom had two boys – Buzz, born in 2014, and Buddy, who arrived in 2016. Their third son,

Max, was born in 2018.

Giovanna’s podcast has been downloaded seven million times over five series. But still the interview with the Duchess of Cambridge was an astonishing coup. ‘I had been sending emails to the palace for years asking if the Duchess would come on the podcast and getting nice replies back,’ she said last week. ‘Now it seems it was the right time for her to have this chat.’
