Even movie star Florence can’t get in without ID!
SHE may have been nominated for a Best Supporting Actress gong, but that didn’t get British star Florence Pugh any special treatment at the Oscars. The Little Women actress was embarrassed in front of the world’s cameras when she was asked for ID by security staff before she was allowed on to the red carpet. And in a scene reminiscent of a teenager trying to blag their way into a Wetherspoons pub, Florence, 24, had only her provisional driving licence, circled above, to offer as ID. After much scrabbling around in her silver handbag, she produced the green photo card and was allowed in.
Florence’s PR team assure me that it’s ‘standard procedure’ to check everyone’s ID at the Oscars – which is odd, because I didn’t notice fellow nominee Leonardo DiCaprio having to dig out his driving licence or library card…
