MoS journalists are in line for 9 Press Oscars
THE Scottish Mail on Sunday’s journalists have been nominated for an incredible nine trophies in the prestigious Scottish Press Awards.
The annual accolades are designed to recognise the very best and most talented in our industry.
Georgia Edkins has been shortlisted in two of the most coveted awards – Reporter of the Year and Young Reporter of the Year.
She has also made the shortlist in Campaign of the Year for her successful ‘Locked up for being Autistic’ campaign. Previous multiaward winner Patricia Kane has been shortlisted in both the Interviewer of the Year and Feature Writer of the
Year sections.
Gareth Rose has been named in the Political Journalist of the Year category, while Gary Keown has secured a nomination for Sports Columnist of the Year. Reporter Dawn Thompson will battle for Scoop of the Year and our reporters have also been shortlisted for Journalism Team of the Year for a series of agenda-setting exclusives on the crisis-hit Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
Our sister publication, the Scottish Daily Mail, has also secured nine nominations – including Front Page of the Year for its coverage of the Alesha MacPhail murder by teenager Aaron Campbell.
The winners of the 41st Scottish Press Awards are due to be announced at a ceremony hosted by Jackie Bird in Glasgow on April 23.
