Jail inmates drunk on gel
MINISTERS have been warned that coronavirus could rip through British jails – because inmates drink hand sanitiser.
The alcohol-based gel is banned in prisons after previous attempts ended in dangerous levels of intoxication.
Last night, nine inmates at Pentonville jail in London were in isolation, with four displaying symptoms of the virus.
The Ministry of Justice is also planning to suspend family visits to prisoners – a move that sparked riots when implemented in Italy last week.
