Well, shiver me pilchards! It’s Demelza the drugs mule
AS DEMELZA Poldark, she wasn’t averse to a little smuggling, but in her latest role, Eleanor Tomlinson has definitely stepped up her criminal activity.
The 27-year-old plays a gun-toting drugs mule in the new sci-fi drama series Intergalactic, swapping the rugged Cornish coast for outer space. She has also toned down the famous red locks, which once so beguiled Captain Ross, to play Candy, the leader of a gang of female prisoners who hijack a spaceship.
Eleanor was photographed filming the Sky drama in Alderley Edge, the Cheshire village popular with Premier League footballers, in her costume of combat trousers and parka, with a pistol holstered on her hip.
The actress, who once dated Poldark co-star Harry Richardson, 26, is happy to bid farewell to Demelza and her 18th Century costumes.
‘I’m very excited to be jumping years into the future to take on the role of Candy, the drug mule from the planet Skov,’ she said recently. ‘There’s not a corset in sight!’
