Wombling woes

Last week you reported on a new, ‘diverse’ version of the Wombles (below). But why pick on them? As creator Elisabeth Beresford’s son Marcus Robertson says, wombles weren’t white or human. And there was already diversity, with French Madame Cholet and the Wombles having names from all over the world.
