Give US bases UK-style roads

Further to the letter last week about arrows being painted on the left-hand side of roads outside US military bases in Britain – to remind Americans which side we drive on – why can’t they redesign roads inside bases? Changing sides at the gates must be confusing and appears to have led to several other incidents, fortunately none as serious as in the Harry Dunn case. I appreciate that US personnel like to regard their bases as ‘a little bit of home’, but safety considerations should override nostalgia.
