BIG YIN’S TALES WILL STAND TEST OF TIME

-

SO, the Big Yin is hanging up his banana boots for the last time. Sir Billy Connolly, left, has announced he will no longer perform stand-up shows because his Parkinson’s disease is now too advanced.

Speaking at an exhibition of his artwork, the comedy legend said his condition ‘has made my brain work differently and you need to have a good brain for comedy’.

Having been privileged enough to have seen Sir Billy perform in his native Glasgow a few years ago, he truly is one of the big beasts of stand-up, taking hilarious tangents as he tells his stories.

I’m so glad he made recordings of so many of his major shows as his humour will undoubtedly stand the test of time.
