It’s gong wrong for Stacey

RECEIVING an MBE would be a lifetime highlight for most people – but not for Stacey Dooley, who says she’s been too busy to pop to Buckingham Palace and collect her award from the Royal Family.

The 33-year-old documentary maker and Strictly Come Dancing winner, left, was awarded her gong in 2018 for services to broadcasting, but she didn’t turn up to receive it because she was touring the country promoting one of her books.

She confessed: ‘I was meant to collect the medal but I didn’t have time. I was working and I never kind of rearranged, so I must sort that out. It’s mad, isn’t it?’
