Rankin can’t visit son
REBUS author Ian Rankin has told of his despair at not being able to see his disabled son during the outbreak.
Kit, 25, is in a wheelchair and is a resident at the Royal Blind School in Edinburgh.
Mr Rankin, from Fife, pictured, said: ‘I’m thinking of all the parents of special needs kids and adults.
‘Our son’s facility is in lockdown – rightly so for staff and residents, but it’s hard not seeing him.’
His son has Angelman syndrome – a genetic condition which affects the nervous system.
