Godfather Harry is trapped

AFTER welcoming their first child last month, Charlie van Straubenzee and wife Daisy Jenks thought it would be easy to pick a godfather for their daughter Clover.

The only trouble is their first choice – Charlie’s old chum Prince Harry – is self-isolating thousands of miles away. The Duke is in Canada with his wife Meghan and son Archie after carrying out his final Royal duties, and they could be stuck there for the foreseeable future after the country effectively closed its borders.

Charlie is one of the few people from Harry’s former set to still be a firm friend.

An insider tells me: ‘Meghan approves of Charlie because she adores his wife – they bonded over their love of shoes.’
