Jenni is so right: age is just a number
I agree with Jenni Murray (below) about the discriminatory nature of the restrictions on the elderly. I am 75, not displaying any symptoms, and have not left my village since the lockdown began. I was looking forward to attending a proposed reunion in October marking 60 years since my class left Ashburton Secondary Boys’ School in Croydon. But will we be allowed to attend? David Savage, South Ockendon, Essex
Why are we not allowed to use common sense while still acknowledging the necessary distancing restrictions? Shirley Clancy, Hook, Hampshire
Until the pandemic robbed us of our freedom, I was working part-time. Then, because I was ‘old and vulnerable’, my employer laid me off for the required 12 weeks. Jenni was right in asking: ‘How can it be possible that one day and one number can change our lives so profoundly?’ Lorna Gillibrand, Middleton, Manchester
We know that obese people are susceptible to coronavirus, so why aren’t they being told to stay at home too? Steve Catterall, Blackburn
