Don’t fall for the smiley grandpa scam

THE victors in any war write its history. And so it is in Northern Ireland where Sinn Fein/IRA is now laundering its past so that in the end it will seem to the ignorant to be as menacing as the Girl Guides.

I love the way all these horrible old men eventually become cuddly Santa Claus figures, but I have met Mr Adams too many times to feel entirely comfortable with his transformation into a smiley grandpa.
