Bike-riding sex attacker hunted after teen’s rape
A TEENAGE girl has been raped by a man who fled on a mountain bike.
She was assaulted in woodland near Bothwell Castle, Lanarkshire, between 5.45pm and 7.30pm last Wednesday.
The rapist is described as white, in his 20s, with a slim build and shaved head.
He was wearing a red T-shirt and blue shorts, and riding a black mountain bike with green neon writing on the frame and tyre and mud guards to both wheels.
Police are still gathering CCTV footage but have appealed for information on the incident or suspect.
Detective Inspector David Lamont said: ‘I am appealing to the public who may have been in the area on Wednesday night to think back and consider if they saw this man.
‘The bike was fairly distinctive in colour so you may remember seeing it. Any small detail could prove vital.
‘Additional patrols are in the area to offer reassurance and anyone with concerns can approach these officers.’
