A race against time in a sci-fi nightmare

Netflix’s first original series from Belgium is an intense sci-fi thriller. A gunman who claims to work for Nato forces an airline pilot to take off with a plane half-full of passengers from all over Europe. The hijacker says they have to keep ahead of the sunrise, which will kill them all. It quickly becomes apparent that he’s telling the truth – an extinction-level event is taking place on the Earth below. But planes have only limited fuel – and this one is going to have to land somehow, somewhere. The tension rarely lets up over six 40-minute episodes. Available now
