The biggest agony? Not seeing family

-

Your article by Dr John Lee last week, on how our freedoms should be restored, summed up exactly what I’d been thinking for some time.

We initially responded to the Government and the rules because we accepted the need to do so, not because they mandated it.

Now, eight weeks later, we realise that our fundamental liberties and human rights are at risk.

The British people need to be trusted that they will act responsibly and protect the most vulnerable. People should not be patronised. They should be asked, not told, what to do – asked to consent, not told to obey.

I know, as a 57-year-old man, that my life has changed – no more going to watch football, no visits to pubs or restaurants, no flights or use of public transport. It’s too risky until I’m told the situation has changed.

But my family mean everything to me. What is life without our loved ones?

We should be trusted to manage the risks according to Government information. Let us see our families!
