IS HAGI WORTH £4MILLION? IT’S A GAMBLE BY RANGERS

-

RATHER than coming over all Sevco and getting into a froth over how Rangers could possibly afford to pay Genk £4million for Ianis Hagi, is it not more pertinent to question whether the Romanian is actually worth that in the first place?

That would be some serious, serious outlay for the Ibrox club in the current circumstances.

Hagi is a good age at 21 and does possess clear technical ability, but it is difficult to see how his overall performances last term justify that investment.

Genk certainly look like writing off a large chunk of the reported £7m-plus they paid for him.

With a pressing need to develop a transfer model that turns a healthy, regular profit on players, Rangers and manager Steven Gerrard can’t afford any more multi-million pound gambles that simply don’t pay off.
