David Bowie Night
BBC2, from 9.15pm

Unfortunately we'll never know at all, but he remains an important cultural figure, and director Francis Whately's enthralling documentary trilogy, which is getting a welcome reshowing this evening, helps to remind us why.

Five Years (10.45pm) explores key moments in Bowie's career and The Last Five Years (12.15am) offers insights into his creative burst before his untimely death from cancer in 2016. ★★★★★
