New baby delight for X Factor’s Dermot
X FACTOR host Dermot O’Leary and his wife Dee Koppang yesterday announced the arrival of their first baby.
O’Leary, 47, took to Instagram to reveal the news, saying he and his Norwegian-born wife were ‘enjoying the cuddles in a newborn bubble’.
Posting a photograph of the new arrival’s personalised outfit, the TV and radio presenter wrote: ‘Welcome to the world baby Koppang O’Leary… We’re delighted to announce that we’ve had a baby!
‘A little boy born on Tuesday 23rd June 2020 (Sankthansaften / Midsummer for you Norwegians) at 8.19am, weighing in at 6lb 13oz.
‘Enjoying the cuddles in the newborn bubble… cats yet to be 100 per cent convinced.’
On Monday, O’Leary said he and his 41-year-old wife were celebrating their impending arrival with a ‘summer solstice’-themed baby shower.
They shared a picture on Instagram of a message board decorated with a floral wreath which said ‘Koppang O’Leary productions’ would be welcoming a ‘new arrival coming soon’.
It emerged that Ms Koppang, a producer and director, was pregnant when she arrived at the British Academy Film Awards 2020 Nominees’ Party in February.
O’Leary announced he had become engaged to Ms Koppang during an episode of The Xtra Factor, a spin-off from the X Factor, in November 2011. The couple married a year later.
Their celebrity friends were quick to offer their congratulations yesterday. TV presenter Emma Willis posted love hearts on social media, while This Morning host Holly Willoughby tweeted: ‘Can’t wait for snuggles.’
