BBC1, 9pm As this year's celebrity series gets under way, John Torode and Gregg Wallace (right) begin with their usual relaxed air – but it's not too long before the competition gets intense, with the fear factor looming large in the knowledge that one of the first quintet of stars will soon be kicked out.

Loose Women's Judi Love beams with bonhomie, while football superstar John Barnes is disarmingly modest. Alongside them are Rak-Su singer Myles Stephenson and Death In Paradise's Shyko Amos, while The Apprentice contestant Thomas Skinner exhibits the same market-trader charm that won Lord Sugar's approval.

First, they warm up with a rapidly improvised dish before trying out their skills in a restaurant. But then back in the MasterChef kitchen comes the final round to see who'll be eliminated before four contestants return on Friday.
