people stuck indoors due to the lockdown, it’s been a chance for many to catch up on some much-needed work on the home.

But bigger jobs – such as fitting a new floor or tiling the bathroom – might have been put on hold because builders have until recently been unable to work inside other people’s homes.

That will have hit Topps Tiles, which issues a trading update on Wednesday for the three months ending June.

But any sense from the update that there has been a pick-up in demand in recent weeks should boost the beleaguered shares, which have halved since February when it had already issued a profit warning.
