Lessons in adapting

-

Despite the country heading into recession, there is an increased demand for private school places.

The speed at which they set up online lessons, while many state schools struggled, must be a factor in this.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies found that 80 per cent of children in the private sector had online classes, against 50 per cent in the better state schools and only 20 per cent in sink comprehensives.

State schools were hamstrung by unions apparently telling teachers not to hold live video classes if they felt ‘uneasy’.
