Harry dragged down by top dog Meghan
What upset me most about your coverage of Prince Harry and Meghan last week was the sadness in Prince William’s eyes at his final meeting with his younger brother this year. If William told his brother not to rush into marriage, as you reported from the new book about the Sussexes, Finding Freedom, this was good advice.
And if someone was overheard saying ‘There’s just something about her I don’t trust’, this too was a valid observation. I felt the same. She came with baggage.
Nothing would ever be good enough for her. She would only settle for being ‘top dog’, and Harry, in his vulnerable state, is being dragged down too. Meghan was welcomed into the Royal Family with open arms. Kate said they rolled out the red carpet for her. But it wasn’t enough.
Diana would’ve been distraught to see her beloved sons being pulled apart like this. We all are.
There has never been any racism against Meghan. We were proud and happy for both of them. The story is of their own making – they truly seem to be professional ‘victims’.

William’s reference to Meghan as ‘this girl’ was at worst unintentionally slightly snobbish. As fully paid-up members of the woke brigade, Harry and Meghan seem capable of taking offence at anything and everything.

Considering Harry’s penchant for dalliances, it is not surprising his brother referred to Meghan as ‘this girl’ – she was just the most recent at the time.

Meghan was never going to accept being second-row royalty – she was born ready for her close-up. And it appears Harry was indignant when she wasn’t given a starring role in ‘The Firm’. So, after a year of Royal duties for the United Kingdom, the couple announced they were quitting and headed for Hollywood. Quelle surprise!
In any other employment they’d have been written off as vain, self-serving failures. Yet they expected to keep their titles and privileges. If they’d gone off into the sunset determined to make new lives without the Royal trappings, they might have left with some respect.

Meghan is quoted as saying ‘I gave up my entire life for this family’ – this from a moderately successful television actress with a rather chequered past who had been given the unlikely privilege of marrying into one of the greatest royal dynasties of all time.
She has demonstrated that she is not only manipulative and ruthless, but deluded as well.

I was saddened to read how the relationship between the Cambridges and the Sussexes has come under the spotlight again. I’m sure that if William and Harry’s mother were still here, she would encourage them to put their heads together to solve this problem – and realise that blood is thicker than water.
