I’M A CELEBRRRITY... GET ME OUT OF ICY UK

-

THERE are plenty of things being done differently due to Covid – but few would have predicted that I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! would move from Australia to North Wales.

The derelict Gwrych Castle is replacing the jungle as base camp for this year’s participants.

The show is famous for trials which pitch contestants into enclosed spaces with unpleasant beasties – such as spiders, snakes and cockroaches – and for making them eat disgusting fodder such as kangaroo testicles or alligator anus. Former winners include football manager Harry Redknapp, DJ Tony Blackburn and singer Kerry Katona.

It is unclear what the new format will be. I expect less footage of bikini-clad celebs showering under waterfalls and more scenes of them huddled round a campfire in fleecy clothing. At least when the winner is crowned, they’ll have their own throne room in which to celebrate.
