PATRICK DARDIS, 61: A CAREER IN BEER
FAMILY: Married to
Heather, a barrister, with two sons aged 28 and 25.
LIVES: Oxfordshire, between Chipping Norton and Banbury, and rents a flat in Clapham where he spends weekdays.
CAREER: Joined Young’s in 2002 and became chief executive in 2016. Previous positions included roles at Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries (now Marston’s), Guinness, Whitbread and Courage. HOLIDAY: A staycation in Aberdyfi on the west coast of Wales. ‘It’s my favourite place in the world. If I went there every year and never went abroad again I’d be happy.’ HOBBIES: Dardis was born in Ireland, 40 miles north of Dublin, and is a former rugby player. Now he says he is ‘far too old to play’, but supports Leinster and Harlequins.

COVID HEALTH CHECK: He tested positive for an antibody test in March, after he had a temperature and felt ‘very unwell’, but has since got a negative swab test. ‘My wife and two sons did three antibody tests each.’
