Matt at the top of his voice with Boris and Trump
LAST night saw the return of a bona fide British classic as satirical puppet show Spitting Image hit our screens for the first time in 24 years.
Last time out it was a grey John Major and Denis Healey with eyebrows that could down a Messerschmitt. This incarnation sees Priti Patel as a vampire and a turnip-topped Ed Sheeran.
In a strange twist of fate, I know one of the voice-over artists. Former Labour staffer-turned political comedian Matt Forde is no stranger to Holyrood politicians as he’s often recruited us to help with his many Fringe shows. An excellent mimic, Matt has been hand-picked to ‘become’ two of the busier characters – Boris Johnson and Donald Trump.
I’ve tried to get some sneak previews of what to expect but, unlike the enthusiastic communicators he is portraying, his lips are sealed.
