That’ll Be The Day

(1973) Talking Pictures TV, 10pm David Essex (above) is perfectly castas the teenager with itchy feet who dreams of rock’n’roll stardom and a life away from humdrum 1950s suburbia. He leaves school to work in a holiday camp and then with a travelling fair, where he gets in to plenty of trouble with kindred spirit Mike (Ringo Starr).
