Nazeef grinds it out

-

NAZEEF claimed the spoils in yesterday’s Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.

In a big weekend for trainer John Gosden, who runs Enable and Stradivarius in today’s Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe, Nazeef (17-2) won the Group One prize by one and a half lengths from French raider Half Light, with Cloak Of Spirits a neck further back in third.

Jockey Jim Crowley produced four-year-old Nazeef down the near side to grind out the win on heavy ground. Gosden said: ‘She’s a very brave and tough filly who has done nothing but improve this season.’
