Lennon chases a left-back and insists no star will exit

NEIL LENNON will pour all his deadline day energy into securing a new left-back after declaring himself convinced that no players will leave Celtic before tomorrow’s midnight deadline.

Satisfied that the club’s qualificat­ion for the Europa League group stage has helped keep prize assets like Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer on board for at least another few months, Lennon has one glaring void in his squad to fill.

Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon has been linked with a loan move to Parkhead but is poised to join Hoffenheim instead , while the club has also been in touch with Charlton regarding the availabili­ty of Alfie Doughty.

‘We have got good depth in the squad and we are looking to bring one more in and keep everybody else,’ said Lennon (above). ‘We are working feverishly in the background and we do need support there (at left-back).
