Guide to help plan retirement

-

A GUIDE to assist those looking to ensure their finances are well prepared for the journey into retirement has been put together by The Mail on Sunday.

The booklet, written by Personal Finance editor Jeff Prestridge, provides plenty of sound advice on how to build a financial fortress for retirement – and just as crucially looks at how finances can be best managed during retirement.

It covers key issues such as pensions and Isas and the financial challenges many women face as they approach retirement – often with fractured employment records and poor entitlement to a state pension. It also provides plenty of information on how to generate retirement income. Called ‘The complete guide to financial planning for those approaching or already in retirement’, it is available by phoning 020 7030 3335 or via dailymail.co.uk/sjp. It has been written in partnership with St. James’s Place Wealth Management.

I am a British citizen, with a British passport, born and living in Scotland.

Over the past 12 months my wife and I, like everyone else, have sacrificed our civil liberties to help defeat Covid.

Unlike many politicians, advisers, celebrities and the self-entitled, we have stayed within our local area.

But threats by the SNP to have controls on the Border between Scotland and England are a step too far. Should this occur, I’ll defend my right as a British citizen by driving south and back.

I would expect my actions to be defended by my British Government and I’d hope many others would think similarly. The incompetents in Holyrood should focus on righting the numerous calamities they have caused during their time in office.
