We need Piers to take on the woke brigade

May I applaud you for having the courage – for that is what it takes today – to publish Piers Morgan’s article last week.

In a media that is cowed and intimidated by a small but vociferous minority who have the support of executives within ITV and the BBC – but not the wider public they are meant to represent – it is refreshing to see an alternative viewpoint given air.

Whether or not one agrees with Mr Morgan, his was the only voice of dissent from the entirely predictable views of the TV media elite.

This is the first time in my 73 years I have written to a newspaper, but I felt I must state that I totally agree with the sentiments expressed by Piers.

I too did not believe the allegations made by Meghan Markle and I agree that I have the right to express that view.

Even if I had believed her story, I still think other people have the right to express their own opinions.
