The British Academy Film Awards
BBC1, 7pm
It's been a strange year when it comes to the movies, with the big studios holding back their major releases as cinemas have stayed largely shut.
But film awards are still going ahead, and the result is a distinctly different list of contenders for the big categories, with what might be thought arthouse entries in other years grabbing the limelight, such as the black comedy Promising Young Woman and the dementia drama The Father (with Olivia Colman, right) both up for best film.
There's still plenty of glitz and glamour as Dermot O'Leary presents proceedings from the Royal Albert Hall, where nominees will include Vanessa Kirby,
Sir David Attenborough and Emerald Fennell of The Crown hoping to win best screenplay for Promising Young Woman, while the late, great Chadwick Boseman will also be remembered.
