IS A SPACE SHIP THE NEW SPORTS CAR?

THERE are certain cliches that strike you as unfair. That men who’ve made a lot of money in business need to aggressively show it off, say, rather than quietly retire.

Then, sometimes a stereotype exists precisely because it is true. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Virgin mogul Richard Branson are locked in a race to see who can fly into space on their own rocket ship first.

Bezos has announced he plans to head into orbit in July with his brother, while Branson will board his own Virgin Galactic rocket in the next few months before opening up trips to the commercial market.

Maybe shuttles are the new sports cars.
