Leotards, leggings... can aerobics save the day?

-

One of the most surprising things about some of the shows on Apple TV+ is just how un-Apple they seem. If you expected the world’s most valuable company to produce bland, middle-of-theroad fare, think again. There are leotards, leggings and loathing in this edgy, subversive comedy drama. Sheila Rubin (Rose Byrne, right) is an insecure, downtrodden 1980s housewife with an eating disorder. We are privy to her disturbing inner monologue so we know how much she hates herself – and others. But things change when she gets into the new fitness fad of aerobics and starts her own business at the same time as her husband is running for political office. If you enjoyed GLOW, the women’s wrestling comedy, you’ll like this. Great soundtrack. Apple TV+, from Friday
