Chiefs’ comeback win seals Sharks semi-final
FOURTEEN-MAN Exeter Chiefs fought back from 14-3 down at half-time to beat Sale at Sandy Park and secure a home Premiership semi-final — against the Sharks.
Converted tries from Byron McGuigan and AJ MacGinty put Sale in control at the break, with Joe Simmonds responding for the hosts.
Arron Reed went over for Sale two minutes after the restart before Exeter’s Sam Skinner was sent off with 26 minutes remaining, seemingly increasing Sale’s chances.
However, converted tries from Luke Cowan-Dickie and Stuart Townsend brought the Chiefs back into the match.
Another Simmonds penalty with 10 minutes left gave Exeter the lead and they never looked back.

The Fijian joined Richard Cockerill’s side in 26 and has made 26 appearances for the side, scoring six tries.
Kyle Rowe, who has represented the Scotland Sevens, makes his debut for the club at full-back.
Cammy Huthinson, who scored off the bench last week, will also take up a starting berth.
