Jade Jagger splits from DJ husband nine years after their star-studded wedding in Cotswolds
POSING for photographers at the Wimbledon tennis championships earlier this month, Jade Jagger appeared uncharacteristically subdued.
Now The Mail on Sunday can reveal why: the daughter of Rolling Stones legend Sir Mick Jagger has split from Adrian Fillary, her DJ husband and – as this picture shows – she has removed her wedding ring.
Friends say that jewellery designer Jade is ‘devastated’ by the breakdown of their relationship, nine years after their star-studded Cotswolds wedding. It is understood divorce proceedings are under way, with lawyers instructed by both sides, and that Mr Fillary has moved out of their home in East London.
But one friend said the couple remained on good terms for the sake of their seven-year-old son, Ray.
‘This is all very sad,’ the source said. ‘They thought they would be together for ever but it didn’t work out quite like that. They are 100 per cent committed to co-parenting their son – right now he is the priority. Things remain amicable for his sake.’
One insider said the legal side of the split ‘is all quite straightforward as they both decided that it was the right thing to do’.
Jade, who turns 50 in October, married Mr Fillary in a lavish ceremony in July 2012 at the stunning £300a-night Aynhoe Park stately home hotel near Banbury, after he proposed during a holiday in Goa.
As well as the Jagger family, A-list guests included Kate Moss and her ex-husband Jamie Hince. Jade’s daughters Assisi, now 28, and Amba, 24, from her previous relationship with artist Piers Jackson, were her bridesmaids.
It was also reported at the time that Ms Moss’s daughter Lila Grace, now 16, was a flower girl.
While Jade’s love life cannot match that of her energetic father, she has enjoyed a number of high-profile romances. She previously dated another
DJ, Dan Williams, but they split in 2011. Before that, she was with Mr Jackson, her teenage sweetheart, who she began dating at the age of 18.
Now a grandmother, Jade is Sir Mick’s only child from his marriage to his first wife, Bianca. The rock star went on to have seven further children with four different women. His current partner is ballerina Melanie Hamrick, the mother of his youngest child, Deveraux, four.
Jade’s marriage break-up comes amid reports that her half-sister, Georgia May
Jagger, 29, has split from her US-based restaurateur boyfriend Louis Levy.
It was claimed this weekend that Georgia’s decision to spend more time in Los Angeles, away from their home in New York, where Mr Levy owns two restaurants, has caused a fracture in the relationship.
According to reports, Georgia, whose mother is Jerry Hall, is being comforted by 21-year-old Texan Cambryan Sedlick, who is hoping to make a career as a professional skateboarder.
