Olivia’s story can help save others
I only know actress Olivia Williams (left) from The Sixth Sense, but I really enjoyed her interview with Julia Llewellyn Smith in last Sunday’s You magazine. Reading her account of being diagnosed with, and treated for, a rare form of pancreatic cancer, it’s clear that Olivia has an inspirational strength of character and I send my best wishes to her and her beautiful family.

Hopefully last week’s article will help to convince other people experiencing similar symptoms to Olivia to ask for tests. As the article said, pancreatic cancer kills one in four patients within a month of diagnosis.

I love the optimistic tone of the interview. Olivia’s strength really shines through and it’s so good to read about a survivor of this awful disease.

Olivia Williams was actually my babysitter many years ago. She’s a great actress – and a great babysitter!

It’s such a relief to read that Olivia seems to be in remission. She’s as brilliant in The Nevers as she is in everything, and I can’t wait to see her as Camilla in The Crown.
